The Album „Betreutes Schreiben“ with the Jugendjazzorchester.ch is out now! In 2022 I had the honor to compose a piece entitled „Konsumschlacht“ for this amazing band in collaboration with Benjamin Weidekamp and Michael Haves.
„Konsumschlacht is the second track of the album and is about a young cashier in the supermarket worrying about the consumption of his customers in the capitalistic system. He wonders why he sells meat from all over the world for a budget price or needs to throw away endless groceries.
The first part of the piece is circled around the young mans frustrations and anger based on his observations in the store, highlighted with a heavy grooves, guitar riffs and atonal brass lines. The second part resolves into a rather optimistic mood, where the cashier is dreaming about a utopian supermarket full of justice with balanced prices for products and far away from a world of overconsumption.“ – Mattia Belz

This album is a tutti frutti compilation of our best hits with MaMaMa3. Most of the tracks were recorded at Bejazz Club, Berne in the series “Chrut u Rüebe” of HKB.

This is the first album of the swiss youth jazz orchestra (Jugendjazzorchester.ch) I had the pleasure to be part of. My solos are on the tracks “Dene wos guet geit” and “Konzernbossa”.
