SPARKLE SHARK
SparkleShark is a new trio of musicians based in Cologne and Essen. The young heads met during or after their studies, driven by the urge to create something of their own. Since then, the newly formed trio has been working on its band sound. Its music incorporates various influences from post-bop, free improvisation, and contemporary classical music. The pieces have a strong melodic presence, with surprising twists and forms. You can expect a mixture of catchy lines and abstract soundscapes. At the center is the intense interaction between Zengh, Belz, and Ismaili.

Three heads, seven instruments (if you count correctly), an infinite number of notes, and plenty of room for new ideas—we are MaMaMa3. Our sound moves somewhere between avant-garde jazz, creative music, and trying to teach silence how to swing.
